Debra M. Nickles, M.A., is an Associate Professor of English and Director of the OUC Writing Center at OHIO University Chillicothe. With a career dedicated to the arts in Southern Ohio, she has served as an advisor for Glass Enclosures and as a long-time judge for local literary events. Debra brings over 20 years of experience in mentoring emerging voices to this year’s ekphrastic writing contest.

Stephanie McDonald is a graduate of Ohio University. She has taught in four states, including an international school in Chiang Mai, Thailand. She was twice named Educator of the Year. She taught a Kids in College Creative Writing class at Ohio University- Chillicothe. Stephanie has taken writing courses through the University of Wisconsin, graduated from the Institute of Children’s Literature, and is a member of SCBWI. Stephanie is also an active member of the Southern Ohio Writers’ Collaborative. She has six short stories published in SOWriter's anthologies. Stephanie has recently completed a middle-grade historical fiction novel and is seeking representation.
